A year of events planned commemorating the milestone
September 27, 2022 – Hope Loves Company (HLC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and young adults who have family members living with ALS all across the country. It is the only nonprofit with this specific mission. HLC celebrates its 10 year anniversary on Sunday, October 9th, right after the nonprofit’s biggest fundraiser of the year on Friday, September 23rd. The Chocolate Meltdown was a joint fundraiser with the ALS Hope Foundation. It happened at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ. More than 425 people attended. The most money was raised in the event’s history.
A year of events is planned for Hope Love Company’s 10 year anniversary.
A commemorative 10 year anniversary t-shirt will be on sale, starting October 9th. There will be a Family Fun Day, and Young Adult Retreat in 2023. The celebratory year will culminate with a big party/fundraiser celebrating 10 years in October 2023. Short videos showcasing 10 years of HLC will be shared over the next year.
The media is invited to interview Hope Loves Company’s team members to share more about the nonprofit’s mission, its 10 year anniversary, and plans for the future.
HLC founder Jodi O’Donnell-Ames has three children – now all young adults – who have lost a parent to ALS before turning 12, so she knew from personal experience how ALS affects a family, especially children. Since founding HLC in 2012, Jodi and her team have hosted about 40 camps for families affected by ALS from across the country.
Camp HLC is Hope Loves Company’s premier program. HLC also offers scholarships, sends care packages, and hosts virtual group therapy sessions. Everything is free for families affected by ALS.
